Originally of Mexican descent, sixteen-year-old, Ashley Campuzano was crowned as the first
Miss Teen California Latina on July 12, 2008 in Huntington Beach. She currently resides with
her brother and parents in Downey, Calif. and attends Downey High School where she serves
as junior class president of A.S.B, is active on the swim team and is a varsity cheerleader. Bilingual in English and Spanish, the talented young Ashley is also a passionate dancer. She has danced at Onstage Dance Center for eight years and has been trained in ballet, Pointe, jazz, lyrical, tap, and hip hop. In 2007, Ashley was selected as Miss Teen Downey 2007. During her reign as Miss Teen Downey, Ashley volunteered throughout her community and became a member of the Downey Rose Float Association. Ashley has many ambitions for the future. She plans to attend The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles and would like to pursue a career in acting or modeling. Ashley's ultimate dream is to own and operate her own dance studio and instill her passion for dance in others. Throughout her reign as Miss Teen California Latina, Ashley will also serve as official spokesperson for the official causes of Miss California Latina.
